Malfunctions, Reloads, and Transitioning
As reliable as semi-automatic handguns are, they are not the only factor when it comes to malfunctions. In this course, we will discuss the different variables that could cause a malfunction and what action to take in an effort to prevent them. Those actions may not be 100 percent effective though, so it is crucial that the student is able to recognize and identify a malfunction and then how to quickly and safely correct the malfunction.
Running your magazine dry at that crucial moment can mean the difference between life and death. Learning when to reload and how to perform a reload quickly and efficiently can mean the difference between you going home after an incident or not. We will practice different techniques and when to perform them all while gaining speed and confidence in your actions.
While needing to transition to your support hand is not likely, it can be necessary for a number of reasons, Knowing how is still important. We will work on different techniques to safely transitioning to your support hand and back to your strong hand.

Class Length - 1-2 hours
Pre-requisites :
You are in compliance with your state Conceal Carry Laws.
If under 18 years of age, you must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a beginner course, but not for the first time shooter. You should already have the fundamentals down and are comfortable handling your firearm.

Items needed for Course:
Ear protection
Eye protection (wrap around preferred)
Baseball style hat
Appropriate outdoor shoes (no open toed shoes)
Crew neck or higher style shirt (no low-cut or V-neck shirts)
Handgun
Magazines (2-3)
Magazine holder
Proper holster
Ammunition (no Reloads, factory ammo only) – amount is based on skill
Drinks and snacks are okay
This course is held on an outdoor range. We will continue rain or shine. Please prepare accordingly (rain gear, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.).
